South African National TeamThis page in Spanish 06/23/2009 - The South African National team opened the world cup June 11th at Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg with a game played against Mexico which ended in a tie (1 - 1). The south African team showed that they too have high caliber soccer as they made things impossible for Mexico. South Africa lost against a tough Uruguay 3 - 0 but came back and beat France2 - 1. South Africa scored 3 goals and had 5 goals scored against in the three games they payed. They ended up in third place just behind Mexico who had a better goal differential. Even though South Africa is out of the world cup, they showed the world they too have great soccer; great enough to beat any team.
