Prospect is a historic small town located in Jackson County along route 62 near the Rogue River. Prospect is the home of the historic Prospect Hotel which opened in 1894 and was listed in the National Register of Historic places in 1980. According to ProspectHotel.com, "The hotel has housed noted dignitaries that came here for Crater Lake Oregon lodging such as Theodore Roosevelt, Zane Grey, Jack London and William Jennings Bryan."
