Gasquet California

Gasquet California

Gsaquet is a town located along highway 199 (Redwood highway) in Del Norte County in the Smith River National Recreation area about 18 miles northeast from Crescent City and about 22 miles southwest from the Oregon Border. I drove by this town just yesterday (03/30/2011) and the sign says this town has a population of 505.

Area Code: 95543 zip code: 707

It is said Gasquet receives an average of 90 inches of rain every year. Because of this, Gasquet has been called "The rainiest place in all California." When you visit this town make sure you come prepared or you will get wet!

The Smith River runs behind Gasquet but it is seen along the highway once you drive past the town.

If you want to be one with nature, this area is the pace to be. You can do all sorts of outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, biking, and more.

Hiouchi is the closest town to Gasquet and it is a few miles down the road.
