Japan has had its share of natural disasters over the years and among them are earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, and floods. The most common Japan disasters that occur are earthquakes and typhoons.

According to eHow, "Japan is located where several continental and oceanic plates meet. As the plates move, earthquakes occur. In 1995, the Kobe earthquake killed 6,000 people and left 415,000 injured."
