Capital of Nevada

Nevada's capital is Carson City. This city has an area of approximately 146 square miles and its elevation is 4,687 feet above sea level. Carson city was founded in 1858 and became incorporated in 1875.

Carson city is located in northwestern Nevada in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada range. It is about 14 miles from Lake Tahoe, 30 miles from Reno, 165 miles from Sacramento, 261 miles from San Francisco, 411 miles from Las Vegas.
